An Aerospace company asked us to produce a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) housing assembly made from Aluminum. The housing needed to be machined to 13″x 7″x 8.5″ with tolerances as tight as + .001″, in accordance with the customer’s strict requirements. The material also required conversion coating in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541 specifications.
The housing’s complexity demanded in-house CNC machining for 7 different components, supported by assembly operations that also included welding. We employed both vertical and horizontal CNC machining centres, producing each of the 7 parts for the housing. Each part was individually assembled, and then welded to the final assembly. Adhering to our reputation for quality and precision, all parts underwent a series of dimensional checks during the process including CMM validation using callipers, micrometres, and various fixtures.
